In partnership with the JNTO (Japanese National Tourist Office), the Star Alliance sales network has developed a series of ground tour packages specifically for the European, USA and Korean markets that can now bring Visa cardholders to Japan. | | |
Tour packages range from 6 to 17 day packages and include such features as air, hotel and tours to Japan for sale via dedicated tour operators.
Star Alliance was formed on 14 May 1997 making it the world's first airline alliance. The 15 member's airlines of Star Alliance serve 772 airports in 133 countries, and carry almost 359 million passengers annually.

You can purchase as few as two and as many as five coupons, with each coupon costing JP¥11,550.
Here is a sample itinerary:

The Airpass is valid for travel from 13 January 2004 to 22 December 2005. Travel on this Airpass is only available with ANA and Air Nippon flights in Economy Class. The Airpass can only be used for travel within Japan and is only available to non-Japanese residents. Eligible flights taken with your Star Alliance Japan Airpass will earn you miles towards your nominated Star Alliance airline frequent flyer program. Travel on this Airpass is only available in conjunction with an international ticket to Japan on a Star Alliance airline (including Air Nippon). You must confirm your first coupon at time of purchase. But the other coupons can be booked at any time, subject to availability. Travel must be completed within 60 days. You have the option of purchasing a minimum of two coupons and a maximum of five. You cannot make changes to the destinations you have chosen, once your ticket has been issued.
