About Visa Travellers Cheques Visa Travellers Cheques currently in circulation are issued in US dollars, Pounds Sterling, Euro, Australian dollars, Canadian dollars and Japanese yen. They are accepted at millions of banks, financial institutions and merchants around the world, according to local customs and practices. Dual-Signature Visa Travellers Cheques are also in circulation. These carry the signatures of two persons as original holders, yet may be used independently by either one. |  |
What if they are lost or stolen? Visa Travellers Cheques can be replaced or refunded if lost or stolen, subject to certain terms and conditions being satisfied. These conditions are set out on the reverse of the Purchase Agreement Form, signed at the time of purchase. If your Travellers Cheques are lost or stolen, call the Visa Travellers Cheques Global Refund Service (GRS) immediately for assistance or your issuer, if the number is available on the reverse side of the Purchase Agreement Form. The GRS is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and can be contacted free of charge from a number of countries or territories. Where this facility is not available, a reverse-charge call can be made. If the country or territory you are in is not listed, or if you experience any difficulty in connecting, please make a reverse-charge call to England at +44 (0) 20 7937 8091 or fax to +44 (0) 1733 503 670. If the Visa Travellers Cheques bear the name of Citicorp, contact the company directly at 1 800 645 6556 (toll free), call collect to 1 813 623 1709 or send an email to visa.webmail@citi.com.

Before a refund can be arranged, you will be asked the following questions:
What are the serial numbers of your cheques? These can be found on the Purchase Agreement Form (i.e. a document which you would have signed when the cheques were purchased). Remember to keep this agreement separate from the cheques. Where and when did you buy these cheques? How and when the cheques were lost or stolen? The issuer of your Travellers Cheques. The issuer name can be found on the right hand side of the Visa logo. The issuer name is also stated on the reverse of the Purchase Agreement Form. The refund can usually be arranged within 24 hours, subject to certain terms and conditions being satisfied.

It is important that consumers are alert for scams and consider the following security tips when using Visa Travellers Cheques:
- Safeguard your cheques against loss or theft as you would safeguard cash
- Keep the Purchase Agreement Form, which lists cheque numbers and contact information, separate from the actual cheques
- Notify the police in case of loss or theft
- Do not use cheques in any illegal gaming or prohibited activity
- Do not accept Visa Travellers Cheques that have been sent to you unsolicited or from an unknown source via mail or courier; Report their receipt immediately to the police
- Do not cash Travellers Cheques for third parties who are not known to you
