How Does Verified By Visa Work?

Verified by Visa is simple for your customers to use, adding just one additional step to your usual checkout process.

1. Your customer selects the items they wish to purchase and
    proceeds to enter his Visa card number as part of your checkout
    process before hitting the Visa card issuer is participating in
    Verified by Visa. Submit Order’ button.

2. Your Verified by Visa Merchant Plug-In (MPI) checks the Visa
Directory to see whether the customer’s Visa card issuer is
participating in Verified by Visa.

3.The Visa Directory then contacts the customer’s card issuer and
the card issuer presents your customer with the Verified by Visa
password request page.

4. Your customer provides their card issuer with Verified by Visa
password for validation.

5.The card issuer then sends your Verified by Visa Merchant Plug-
In a response to indicate that the customer has been
authenticated.

6.You then go ahead and process the transaction in the normal
manner with your own card acceptance financial institution.
