Visa New Zealand has today announced it will support Olympic Gold Medalist and Shotput World Champion, Valerie Adams (previously Vili) until the London 2012 Olympic Games. |

About Valerie Adams
Valerie Adams has the rare distinction of being crowned the current Olympic, Commonwealth and World women’s shot put champion and has been ranked No 1 in the world for the shot put since 2006. A former world youth and junior champion, Valerie took the silver medal at the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games and gold at Melbourne in 2006. At the World Championships she was fifth in Paris in 2003, and third in Helsinki in 2005, before striking gold in Osaka. At the 2004 Athens Olympics, Valerie finished eighth and dominated the event in Beijing to take the 2008 Olympic title. She has recently won the Continental Cup athletics meet in Split, Croatia with a season’s best throw of 20.86m.
