Visa is offering its most premium cardholders the opportunity to spend an intimate weekend at a luxury resort with Sydney Theatre Company co- Artistic Directors Cate Blanchett and husband Andrew Upton. Visa’s General Manager for Australia and New Zealand, Chris Clark said the event, to be held at the exclusive Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa in the Blue Mountains, is only available for Visa Signature cardholders to attend, and takes card benefits programs to a new level. “We are delighted that an internationally acclaimed star of the calibre of Cate Blanchett has agreed to be our special guest at the first of a series of unique and truly bespoke events that we will be hosting for Signature cardholders.” During the weekend, Visa Signature guests will be treated to an in-depth ‘show-and-tell’ of the recently commenced ‘greenovation’ of Sydney’s Wharf Theatres from the STC’s Artistic Directors, Cate Blanchett and Andrew Upton, they will also discuss the theatre’s recently acquired environmental credentials and share highlights of the just-launched 2011 STC season. Guests will also enjoy dinner under the stars, in the grounds of Wolgan Valley’s 1832 Heritage Homestead, accompanied by a quartet from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Mr Clark said the event was the first in the Visa Signature Bespoke Event Program - a calendar of lifestyle experiences that has been created exclusively for Visa Signature cardholders. Other events include an intimate evening of French fashion with Vogue Australia editor, Kristie Clements and the Veuve Cliquot Vintage Experience, which offers 20 champagne lovers the chance to celebrate 200 years of vintage champagne. Visa and Citibank launched Australia’s first Visa Signature card in June. The card is aimed at the top five percent of income earners and offers the highest level of prestige, travel benefits and exclusive offers. These include complimentary SilverSmith membership to boutique, luxury hotel specialists Mr & Mrs Smith as well as access to 600 airport lounges worldwide[1].
