Monitoring the Internet

	Visa works with specialists to identify child pornography merchants on the Internet that accept Visa payment products.    These specialists use innovative technical solutions to identify cases of Internet abuse and malpractice and have extensive contacts and experience working with law enforcement agencies worldwide.

The monitoring program makes use of advanced web crawling and analysis technology that searches more than 17 million Internet pages a day for any association of the Visa name and brand with child pornography.  It reports Internet child pornography sites it finds to Visa and law enforcement agencies for the appropriate action to be taken.  All known Internet child pornography sites identified through the monitoring program will have their Visa acceptance privileges revoked.
